Hans Greil (1845–1909) was a teacher and the first director of the Hallstatt School of Woodcarving and later of the Ebensee School of Woodcarving. Alongside his educational work, he was a renowned wood sculptor and carver whose significance reached far beyond the Salzkammergut.
