Exhibition "Hans Greil" at Museum Ebensee

Museum Ebensee dedicates a small exhibition to the artist and pioneer of wood carving in the Salzkammergut.

Hans Greil (1845–1909) was a teacher and the first director of the Hallstatt School of Woodcraft and later of the Ebensee School of Woodcraft. Alongside his teaching work, he was also a renowned wood sculptor and carver whose significance extended far beyond the Salzkammergut. Greil created altars such as the high altar in Litschau and the altar of the Wallsee castle chapel. He also designed, among other things,
