Exhibition "Hans Greil" at Museum.Ebensee

Hans Greil (1845–1909), teacher and first director of the Hallstatt School of Woodworking and later of the Ebensee School of Woodworking, was not only a dedicated educator but also a renowned wood sculptor and carver whose significance extended far beyond the Salzkammergut. Greil created altars such as the high altar in Litschau and the altar of the Wallsee Castle Chapel. He also designed the model for the Franz Carl Fountain in Bad Ischl. The Stations of the Cross paintings on the Kalvarienberg and the tabernacle in the Catholic parish church in Ebensee are likewise the work of Hans Greil.

Museum. Ebensee dedicates a small exhibition to this artist and pioneer of woodcarving in the Salzkammergut, which can be viewed from 9 July during the museum's opening hours.
