Exhibition "Hans Greil" at Museum Ebensee

Museum Ebensee dedicates an exhibition to Hans Greil (1845–1909), the first director of the woodcraft schools in Hallstatt and Ebensee. Greil was a teacher, wood sculptor, and carver, and created works such as the high altar in Litschau, the altar of the castle chapel in Wallsee, the model of the Franz Carl fountain in Bad Ischl, as well as the Stations of the Cross paintings on the Kalvarienberg and the tabernacle of the Catholic parish church in Ebensee. The exhibition paints the portrait of a master craftsman and pioneer of woodcarving, whose influence extended far beyond the region.
