Parov Stelar - Leave the future behind - Exhibition

Marcus Füreder, known worldwide as Parov Stelar, is one of the most successful Austrian artists of his generation. Between studio and stage, canvas and dancefloor, he creates a multifaceted cosmos of art, sound, and emotion.

For him, painting is a spontaneous impulse – a dialogue with chance. Digital drafts give rise to luminous oil compositions that evolve throughout the process, until a painting "looks back at him" and he knows: it is complete. Painting forms his counterpart to music, the tactile to the digital world. "I paint, therefore I am," he says – painting as an existential statement.

His works reflect an affinity with Pop Art from Warhol to Lichtenstein, while also revealing inner struggles, fears, and longings – visual psychograms of a seeker between sound and color. A native of Upper Austria, he studied painting in Linz and Berlin, exhibited large-format, autobiographical works at the Francisco Carolinum in 2021, and shows: Parov Stelar constantly reinvents himself – between beat and brushstroke, euphoria and melancholy.
