Cooking Class "Alpine Specialties"

"Alpine Specialties!" Course info: A vacation day at the lake is drawing to a close, the evening sun bathes the mountains in warm light, and slowly the question arises: What's for dinner tonight? In this cooking class, you'll get to know some of the most famous dishes of the Alpine region and gain insight into the stories and traditions behind them. Together we'll cook typical specialties as they have been prepared for generations in the Alpine regions. We'll start with a cold Puster Valley apple soup, which is especially appealing on warm summer days. Then we'll prepare fried Pinzgau cheese dumplings with a small salad, cranberries, and pumpkin seed oil. Next up are South Tyrolean Schlutzkrapfen, whose handcrafted preparation is still maintained to this day. For a sweet finale, we turn to one of the most famous dishes of Austrian cuisine: Kaiserschmarrn with plum compote. Many people believe that a good Kaiserschmarrn requires stiffly beaten egg whites or that the batter needs to rise in the oven. In the class, I'll show you a simple, everyday-friendly preparation with which this beloved dish comes together in no time. The selected recipes have another advantage: the required ingredients are readily available in most countries. So you can recreate the dishes at home after your vacation and share a piece of Alpine food culture with family and friends. While cooking, you'll learn interesting facts about the origins of the dishes, the ingredients used, and the culinary traditions of the Alpine region. You'll of course receive the recipes to take home with you. The class begins at 5:00 PM. After about two hours of cooking together, we'll enjoy the prepared dishes in a relaxed atmosphere and round off the vacation day on a culinary note. A holiday experience for anyone who wants to discover the flavors of the Alps and take a piece of them home. Price: EUR 100.00 per participant incl. VAT. Minimum number of participants: 4 persons. Beverages are not included in the course price.
