Simon Schwartz is one of Germany's most renowned comic artists. He debuted in 2009 with "drüben!", the touching graphic novel about his parents' departure from East Germany. His book "Packeis" received the Max und Moritz Award in 2012 as the best German-language comic. Schwartz combines meticulous historical research with expressive black-and-white drawings, making complex historical contexts accessible to a broad audience.
