Ploetzhof Museum Visit

Culture New

The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of days gone by. What was life like back then, what happened to those who were convicted, how was a court hearing conducted, and what kind of penalties could one expect? The second part of the #ploetzhof is dedicated to the history and development of Hof bei Salzburg – from Roman times to the man-made island in the Fuschlsee, you will find a wide range of interesting information from a long-forgotten era. In 2024, as part of the LEADER Project II, a bridge was installed over the Baderbach beneath the #ploetzhof, creating a picturesque connection between the impressive old prison and the Baderbach Mill. This now allows visitors to explore three Points of Interest (POIs) in a short walk – namely the #ploetzhof, the mill, and the waterfall.

Opening hours: self-guided visits are possible all year round, daily from 10:00 to 18:00 (depending on weather conditions – no snow clearance!). Free admission!
