Experience Steamship "Gisela" – Ebensee to Gmunden

The "Gisela" is one of the oldest steamships in the world, built in 1871, and features an oscillating compound steam engine. You can watch the engine and the engineers in action from the deck. She is also one of the most beautiful ships on the water, gliding gracefully along with her two paddle wheels in a truly historic setting. From 1 July to 31 August 2026, guests can board every Sunday at 10:15 am (the Gisela arrives at 10:10 am) at the Ebensee dock and use this elegant mode of transport for the journey to Rathausplatz Gmunden. In the district capital, you disembark and can catch the next scheduled ferry back to Ebensee at 11:30 am or one of the later ferries (depending on how long you'd like to stay – see the timetable at www.traunseeschifffahrt.at for sailing times). Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle. Arrival information: If you park your vehicle in the Trauneck area or around the municipal office, please note the parking fees!
