Experience Steamship "Gisela" – Ebensee to Gmunden

The "Gisela" is one of the oldest steamships in the world, built in 1871, and features an oscillating compound steam engine. You can watch both the engine and the engineers in action from the deck. It is also one of the most beautiful ships on the water, gliding along in historic style with its two paddle wheels. From 1 July to 31 August 2026, guests can board every Sunday at 10:15 am (arrival of the Gisela at 10:10 am) at the Ebensee landing stage and use this elegant mode of transport for the journey to the Rathausplatz in Gmunden. In the district capital, you disembark and can take the next scheduled ferry back to Ebensee at 11:30 am or one of the later boats (depending on how long you'd like to stay; see the timetable at www.traunseeschifffahrt.at). Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle. Travel information: If you park your vehicle in the Trauneck or around the municipal office, please note the parking fees!
