Experience Steamship "Gisela" - Ebensee to Gmunden

The "Gisela" is one of the oldest steamships in the world, built in 1871, and features an oscillating compound steam engine. Guests can watch the engine and her engineers in action from the deck. She is also one of the most beautiful vessels on the water, gliding gracefully along with her two historic paddle wheels. From 1 July to 31 August 2026, guests can board every Sunday at 10:15 am (arrival of the Gisela at 10:10 am) at the Ebensee landing stage and use this elegant mode of transport for the journey to Rathausplatz in Gmunden. In the district capital, passengers disembark and can catch the next scheduled boat back to Ebensee at 11:30 am or one of the subsequent boats (depending on how long you wish to stay; see timetable at www.traunseeschifffahrt.at for sailing times). Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle. Travel information: If parking in the Trauneck area or around the municipal office, please observe the parking fees!
