Experience Steam Ship "Gisela" – Ebensee to Gmunden

The "Gisela" is one of the oldest steamships in the world, built in 1871, and features an oscillating compound steam engine. You can watch the engine and the engineers in action from the deck. She is also one of the most beautiful ships, gliding across the water in historic style with her two paddle wheels.

From 1 July to 31 August 2026, guests can board every Sunday at 10:15 at the Ebensee jetty and use this elegant vessel for the trip to Rathausplatz Gmunden. In the district capital, you disembark and can catch the next scheduled boat back to Ebensee at 11:30 or one of the later ones (depending on how long you wish to stay; see sailing times at traunseeschifffahrt.at).

Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle.
