"Seismographic Calligraphies" Opening on Saturday, 25 April 2026 at 2 pm Exhibition runs until 31 October 2026

Wolfgang Maria Reiter writes the same text again and again in his works – a text that has never let him go since his early childhood. Through constant repetition, the actual content of the text recedes into the background; the writing becomes a means of design, and the act of writing turns into a repetitive, meditative process. The meaning is always present, yet the central focus of the works is form. Reiter uses the continuous line of connected letters to create his images in a variety of formats through the act of writing. They range from miniatures to three-dimensional script objects, which he folds and shapes from written-upon paper.

Wolfgang Maria Reiter writes with wooden sticks and ink on transparent paper. The writing becomes a projection surface for the artist's sensations and moods – Norbert Trawöger calls his works "seismographic calligraphies."
