Weekly Market in Bad Ischl

For everyone who enjoys self-catering during their holiday in the Salzkammergut, a leisurely stroll through the Ischl weekly market in the historic town centre of the spa and imperial city is well worthwhile. Merchants and craftspeople have been offering their goods at the weekly market in Bad Ischl for centuries – the town's market rights date back to 1466. Over the centuries, the market saw many ups and downs until, in 1941, it was finally decided to hold the weekly market on a Friday, on the Salinenparkplatz, behind the Trinkhalle down to the banks of the Traun. Friday remains the day to this day; the location, however, has changed.
