Weekly Market

For over 1,000 years, farmers and traders have brought their goods to market here in Gmunden. Since Gmunden was also a trading hub for salt, the settlement at the mouth of the Traun was ideally suited for this purpose from the very beginning. Today, it is the quality, the variety, and the breathtakingly beautiful location by the water that make our Gmunden weekly market so appealing. At full capacity, around 50 market vendors are present. They offer meat, fruit, plants and flowers, vegetables, natural remedies, and many useful things for everyday life – from A for antipasti to Z for decorative items. A defining feature of almost everything on offer: verifiable regional origin, short transport distances, outstanding freshness, and therefore full-bodied flavor and often exclusivity.

• Market hours: Every Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• Alternate date: If a public holiday falls on a Tuesday, the market will be held on Monday.
