The Sensenmuseum brings the 400-year tradition of scythe-making in Scharnstein back to life. Using faithfully preserved forge hammers, former blacksmiths demonstrate the highly skilled craft of scythe forging. Visitors also gain comprehensive insights into the working world and social life of the scythe smiths, as well as into the rapid rise of the Redtenbacher company to become the largest scythe manufacturer of the Danube Monarchy – until its end in 1987. Program:

• 11:00 and 14:00 – Guided tour of the museum with live forging demonstrations
• 15:00 – Children forge a small horseshoe (registration required)
