Young University: ALIENS – They Are Already Among Us! Non-Native Animal and Plant Species in Our Environment

Of course, this workshop is not about extraterrestrials! Did you know that more and more animal and plant species are being introduced into new regions of the world by humans, sometimes unintentionally and sometimes deliberately? Some of these new species not only manage to reproduce here, but also displace native animals and plants or transmit diseases. Rising temperatures are also making it easier for many new species to spread. Which alien species or neobiota are found in your area? How can you help prevent alien species from being released?
