INA LOITZL "Halali" - The Art of Hunting" Multimedia Installation

Date: 11–18 August 2026 "Halali" - The Art of Hunting" Exhibition: Ina Loitzl, Multimedia Installation Venue: Galerie AM FLUSS, Hasnerallee 2, Bad Ischl Exhibition, Art Exhibition, Thematic Exhibition The artist's engagement with her own Carinthian homeland has driven her to explore various forms of hunting through her art: from mandalas to animated films to printed hunting collages for the dining room. We should be on our guard! Waidmannsheil! Ina Loitzl embroiders, sews, cuts, prints, paints, and films – wholeheartedly in the spirit of folk culture and its objects. In her artistic work, she combines craftsmanship with kitsch and media imagery, unmasking appearance and reality. She presents an image that ostensibly conveys a sense of joy in living, yet at the same time points to its rigid, constraining conventions and assigned roles. By confronting aspects of traditional customs with modern realities and placing them within a global context, the artist distinguishes authentic folk traditions from emotionally charged provincial nostalgia, while also deciphering the sinister and abusive appropriation of their content. After all, as Otto von Bismarck once said… "…there are three things no one should ever believe: a woman's true age, the quality of wine, and a hunter's story." (roughly translated as: "…three things are never to be believed: a woman's age, a wine's vintage, and a hunter's catch.") In that spirit, form your own opinion.
