The "Gisela" is one of the oldest steamships in the world, built in 1871, and features an oscillating compound steam engine. Both the engine and its engineers can be observed from the deck. She is also considered one of the most beautiful ships, gliding gracefully across the water with her two paddle wheels in a truly historic fashion.

From 1 July to 31 August 2026, guests can board every Sunday at 10:15 (the Gisela arrives at 10:10) at the Ebensee landing stage and enjoy the elegant vessel for the journey to Rathausplatz in Gmunden. Passengers disembark in the district capital and can catch the next scheduled ferry back to Ebensee at 11:30 or one of the later sailings (depending on how long you wish to stay; see the timetable at www.traunseeschifffahrt.at for sailing times). Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle.

Getting there: If you park your car in the Trauneck area or around the municipal office, please note the parking fees!
