Wolfgang Maria Reiter writes the very same text in his works – a text that has stayed with him since his early childhood and never let go. Through constant repetition, the actual content of the text recedes into the background: the script becomes a design element, and writing turns into a repetitive, meditative process. Meaning always resonates within, yet the central focus of the works is form. Reiter uses the continuous line of strung-together letters to "write" his images in a variety of formats. They range from miniatures to three-dimensional script objects, which he folds and shapes from written-upon paper. Wolfgang Maria Reiter writes with wooden sticks and ink on tracing paper. The writing becomes a projection surface for the artist's sensations and moods – Norbert Trawöger calls his works "seismographic calligraphies."
