In his works, Wolfgang Maria Reiter writes the same text over and over – words that have stayed with him since his early childhood. Through this constant repetition, the actual content of the text recedes into the background: the writing becomes a means of design, and the act of writing turns into a repetitive, meditative process. Meaning always resonates within it, yet the central content of the works is form. Reiter uses the continuous line of sequentially arranged letters to create his images in various formats through writing. They range from miniatures to three-dimensional script objects, which he folds and shapes from inscribed paper.

Wolfgang Maria Reiter writes with wooden sticks and ink on transparent paper. The writing becomes a projection surface for the artist's sensations and moods – Norbert Trawöger calls his works "seismographic calligraphies."
