Exhibition "fading fields. Rural Visions Between Imagination and Disappearance"

The exhibition invites visitors to explore the transformation of rural life worlds across three generations – from the vision of the future held by a school class in 1996 to the imagined futures of 2055.

As part of the communale oö 2026, Gmunden is dedicated to the program theme "from history to HERstory": women are brought out of the "blind spot" of male-dominated historiography, with their deeds, experiences and contributions moved to the center – aspects that have been overlooked in traditional accounts. The exhibition captures the evolving perspectives of rural women over three generations: their ideas about the future in 1996, today, and in 2055.
