Gmunden takes on a special role in the communale oö 2026 programme: the transition from history to HERstory. Through a conscious reinterpretation, women are brought out of the "blind spot" of a male-dominated historiography, with their deeds, experiences, and contributions placed at the centre – aspects that have often been missing in traditional accounts and continue to be missing today.
