A surreal parallel universe staged inside the Marmorschlössl. In her work, Jakob Lena Knebl explores identity in relation to themes from history, art history, fashion, religion, and mythology. As varied as these themes themselves are the expressive means the transmedial conceptual artist employs for her interpretations.

For this, Knebl will reconstruct the Marmorschlössl into a kind of stage on which diverse protagonists—whether figures or objects—are staged in such a way that the audience will feel they are moving through a parallel universe. That Knebl herself will be part of it is beyond question, as it is ultimately a projection of her ongoing engagement with her own multifaceted personality. In the grand salon of what was once Empress Elisabeth's retreat, she will realize a dreamlike, surreal installation that, among other things, references works by the artist Ernst Heinrich Barlach. Visitors will also encounter her personal interpretation of Edgar Degas's dancer, as well as a very special mise-en-scène of a swan—since one such bird once resided in "Sisi's" bedchamber. In the rooms on the upper floor, Knebl will present her own works, some fashioned from fabric, alongside pieces by students. In the outdoor area, the artist will realize interpretations of the hut of the forest woman Baba Yaga (a mythological figure from Slavic folklore).
