The exploration of her own Carinthian homeland has driven her to artistically engage with the most diverse manifestations of hunting: from mandala to animated film to printed hunting collages for the dining room. We should be on our guard! Waidmannsheil!

Ina Loitzl embroiders, sews, cuts, prints, paints and films – in keeping with her subject matter and folk culture – with great passion. In her artistic work she combines craftsmanship with kitsch and media images, unmasking appearance and reality. She presents an image that ostensibly conveys joie de vivre, yet at the same time points to its rigid, confining conventions and attributions. By confronting aspects of traditional customs with modern reality and placing them in a global context, she distinguishes authentic tradition from emotionally charged provincial nostalgia, while also deciphering the sinister and abusive appropriation of its content. For, as Otto von Bismarck once said…

"... never is so much lied as before the election, during the war, and after the hunt"
