Holzmarkt 2026 – Exquisite Creations from Local Woods

The idyllic Salzkammergut municipality of Traunkirchen is hosting the Holzmarkt this autumn. The Holzmarkt will be held at the Waldcampus Traunkirchen. The Waldcampus Traunkirchen, located on the former Buchberg site, will become a grand arts arena for the local material wood and its handcraft and artistic processors on 29 and 30 August. The Holzmarkt has established itself as a popular platform for showcasing local arts and crafts, as Traunkirchen and its surroundings can look back on a great tradition of woodcraft. Exhibitors will include both local craft businesses and hobby makers, with the focus firmly on the handcraft itself. The numerous sales stalls will feature a wide range of individually crafted wooden utility items: decorative objects, toys, and decorative pieces in various designs. As experience has shown, the "live craftsmanship" area is always a particular highlight. Here, visitors can look over the shoulders of basket weavers, wood turners, carvers, and coopers as they work. The association "Krippenfreunde Salzkammergut" will also take the opportunity to present its multifaceted artistic works in wood to the public. The Goldhauben- und Kopftuchgruppe will treat visitors to a wonderful selection of local culinary delights.
