Museum Ebensee dedicates a small exhibition to the artist and pioneer of woodcarving in the Salzkammergut.

Hans Greil (1845–1909) was a teacher and the first director of the Hallstatt School of Woodcraft, and later of the Ebensee School of Woodcraft. Alongside his work as an educator, he was also a renowned wood sculptor and carver whose significance extended far beyond the Salzkammergut.
